Course Outline

JIB Gold Card Pathway 3

Pathway 3 is designed for those with intermediate to advanced electrical experience who already hold an existing qualification and are ready to complete their EAL 1605 Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation to work towards becoming a fully qualified electrician — recognised by the industry with the prestigious JIB Gold Card.

It is ideal for experienced electricians with less than five years of commercial and light industrial experience, who are currently employed in a suitable role and want a direct, supported pathway to their JIB Gold Card.

In some cases, if the diploma held does not fully meet the minimum criteria for enrolment onto the EAL 1605 Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation, we can assist in mapping your existing qualifications against the required standards. This may involve completing several additional online examinations, practical assessments, or the scientific principles project. This process is only undertaken if necessary, ensuring you meet the full requirements for your EAL 1605 Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation.

Requirements

To be eligible for this pathway you must:

  • Be aged 21 or over.
  • Have less than 5 years Electrical work experience.
  • Hold a Level 2, Level 3 Electrical Diploma or previously incomplete qualifications
  • Currently working in an electrical role that covers the full commercial or light industrial scope of work.
  • Those who already have, or intend to obtain, the BS:7671 Wiring Regulations qualification.

Before beginning Stage 1, you will complete a Discovery Call and Technical Interview to confirm your eligibility and readiness to proceed.

If your existing qualification meets the EAL 1605 Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation entry requirements, you will progress directly to Stage 2. If it does not, you will need to complete bridging units, which may include online exams, practical assessments, or the scientific principles project.

If bridging units are required, you will be given the exact units that need to be completed. You can arrange times and dates to attend one of Brian Scaddan’s Premium Training Centres to complete these units. Once all bridging units are successfully completed, you will then move on to the NVQ.
