Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification (2392-10)

This level 2 qualification is for learners who wish to gain a fundamental knowledge of inspection and testing of simple single-phase electrical installations together with relevant practical skills.

The course covers inspection and testing of simple single-phase electrical installations in accordance with statutory and non-statutory requirements.  It is also useful if you need to refresh on knowledge and practical skills.

Course Content

The course will cover the following topics:

• Safe isolation
• Requirements for initial verification
• Initial inspection
• Safe testing and commissioning 
• Completion of documentation for a typical single-phase electrical installation

Delivery

This course is classroom-based. You will spend 5 days in the classroom. The qualification is achieved by passing an online multiple choice exam and a practical assessment.

Eligibility

This course is ideally for those working within the electrical industry and have an understanding of the requirements of BS7671. It is expected that you will have a proficiency in literacy and numeracy.

Learners must be at least 16 years of age.
