Although there are no formal entry requirements, it is recommended that candidates have adequate experience in inspection and testing. This course is not suitable for those with little or no experience, or for those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or allied trades.
A solid understanding of BS:7671 IET Wiring Regulations and Guidance Note 3 is essential.

- Requirements for initial verification of electrical installations
- Inspection of installations prior to being placed into service
- Safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations
- Verification of results to BS 7671
- Completion of electrical installation certificates and documentation
- Commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment
