Who is this course for?
- Practising electricians aiming to achieve or maintain JIB grading as an Approved Electrician
- Professionals who need proof of competence for employers or to meet industry requirements
- Electricians with a solid understanding of BS:7671 and Guidance Note 3
Note: This course is not suitable for those new to inspection & testing or those entering the industry from other trades.
Course Outline
What you will learn:
- Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
- Initial verification of new installations
- Periodic inspection & testing of existing installations
- Inspection requirements prior to energising
- Assessing installations for continued safe use
- Application of classification codes
- Safe testing and commissioning procedures
- Verification of results to BS:7671 standards
- Completion of certificates, EICRs, and associated documentation
- Commissioning of electrotechnical systems and equipment
Requirements
Eligibility & Entry Requirements
- Learners must be 18-years of age or older
- Proficiency in literacy and numeracy required
- Strong working knowledge of BS:7671 IET Wiring Regulations and Guidance Note 3 is essential
- Minimum of 6 months experience in inspection & testing is recommended
