Electrical Fault Finding
This course is for those wanting to raise their awareness of the types, symptoms & identification of electrical faults within the reticulated system.
The course will provide you with the knowledge to diagnose the most common electrical wiring faults and have an understanding of the possible causes. It will enable you to carry out the necessary isolation & testing, whilst understanding their limitations and hazards associated with the electrical systems and equipment.
Course Content
The course will cover the following topics:
- How to identify circuits and undertake safe isolation
- protective devices and how they can cause faults
- List the circuit configurations to enable quicker fault location
- Learn the correct use of testing equipment and what functions to rely on to diagnose faults
- Evaluating test results to diagnose issues
- Common components and the faults they can introduce
Delivery
This 1 day course is classroom-based.
Eligibility
This course is intended for electricians or maintenance engineers with electrical experience. It is strongly recommended you have a basic understanding of testing. It is expected that you will have a proficiency in literacy and numeracy.
Learners must be at least 18 years of age.
